How do I give a partial refund to a buyer on Paypal?

Probably a silly question but when I go on to paypal there's the option to give a refund but I'm worried that if i press that it will give a full refund rather than a partial one.

Anyone here know what i need to do?

If I have ever made a partial refund which I may say I am not happy to do I have just typed into the box the amount needed and press send also give a quick note as to what the refund is for in the box supplied,I use this for returned postage if I over estimate postage.

How do I give a partial refund on PayPal?
Here's how to refund a payment:
  1. Log in to your PayPal account.
  2. Click Activity near the top of the page.
  3. Click the payment you want to refund.
  4. Click Refund this payment.
  5. For "Refund amount," enter the amount you want to refund (you may have the option to refund a partial amount of the payment), and then click Continue.

The wording is a little misleading when it states ''refund this payment'' and I was wary at first.

If you click that it takes you to another page which has a box that allows you to enter the amount you wish to refund.

Simply fill that in and send.
