February 4th and all that RUBBISH

Well, folks, the eBay DEATH KNELL is coming very fast indeed. Just over a week to go and then the proverbial hits the fan. Many buyers have no idea about this RIP OFF increase and will, no doubt, be rather miffed to say the least.

However, like myself, those sellers who offer low value items to their loyal and lovely customers, we will all be hit by up to a whopping 79% increase on our £1 items. SHAME ON EBAY to fleece Private Sellers yet again. Our buyers will vanish so no sales = NO REVENUE for eBay.

Honestly, folks, there is a `solution` for sellers of low value items but, I cannot tell you all about it on here. It is rather simple to do. Will not cost you a penny in lost sales. Buyers will not be fleeced and in the short term, until eBay actually sees sense and reverses this rash decision, all of your £1 items remain on their site.

Use a little common sense and maybe a search engine or two and you may just land on a page that explains it all in plain, simple English. Good luck.

Is there any reason to start yet another thread about this? There are plenty of active threads on this subject that you can add to.

Vinted have had buyers paying fees for the lifetime of their website, likewise Depop switched without much issue

Why would eBay switching to a fee model more people, particularly younger customers, are familiar with be it's death?

I can't see a workaround on that front.

It's not possible for a buyer to buy an item from an eBay seller and avoid the fee.

It can only be a cunning and totally undetectable scheme to give off site contact details in a listing 🙄

always love a listing that’s states they won’t entertain reports of none delivery if we don’t pick tracked postage and threatens to report customers to action fraud.

Re: February 4th and all that RUBBISH

There are obvious workarounds which can save multiple 75p charges, but they are clumsy, rely on the buyer knowing about them, and also involve a pretty high level of trust between two parties who most likely do not know each other.

There are other pretty obvious ways some sellers will try to completely avoid the buyers' fee, but these should be picked up quite easily by eBay, as fee avoidance is one of the few areas where eBay actually take action.

In both cases, I wouldn't imagine it would really be worth the hassle. This will all blow over pretty quickly. eBay have been quite clever/sneaky (delete where appropriate) - almost as soon as this is implemented, they will most likely announce a date for the compulsory Simple Delivery, and everyone will turn their attention to that.

What an off-putting load of unenforceable rubbish that is!

If anything will put buyers off, that nonsense will.

And a 'private seller' taking legal advice, whatever next.

‘ Ask any questions before bidding as no returns’ is my favourite.

Sorry, where were we?
