They should leave things as they are. Now they are updating their payments system I and possibly others are having problems with the Royal Mail tracking not updating or syncing properly. If this is not remedied by the first week in February then private sellers are going to have all sorts of problems accessing their money because there's no indication that the item has been delivered. And now the Royal Mail tracking is playing up which could be a very sour taste of things to come!

eBay are aware of the problem with tracking not connecting with ebay and they're working to sort it out. With the new rules if the tracking doesn't show delivery the money will be released anyway after 14 days.

There is an ongoing thread about this issue with Ebay's employee Kat input & updates.
If you post there she will add your account to the already reported, although this appears to be an ongoing site-wide issue & not just some single accounts issue, if interested see:

Past couple of weeks I'm having problems on RM tracking itself. Mostly on my mobile. You press the red button and nothing happens. I clear the site cookies and sometimes it works. These symtoms happen at random. There is s thread on Reddit about this.
I wonder if its just going to be a lottery if ebays tracking confirms delivery in time ??
There is no reason whatsoever that a seller should get delayed payment just because these companies tracking system is not upto scratch.

Royal Mail own tracking site hasn't worked for me for weeks. Neither has it been working via 17track and Parcelsapp.

I've been using Royal Mail tracked service exclusively for years, never had a single problem tracking it on their website, it was always on ebay site that the corresponding tracking would not update occasionally.
Normally ebay would catch up eventually in a day or two but this time this been going on since last Saturday, so close to a week, as reported by many sellers & it's still broken.
There are now reports that other couriers also are affected & their tracking don't updates on ebay, so not just Royal Mail.
