Combined postage and now have and unused label and listing waiting for dispatch

Hi.

As with many sellers, I'm having issues with simple delivery. I rarely had to combine postage before SD so wasn't aware they'd removed all options to do this.

I sold a couple of items to the same buyer but they were paid for as seperate transactions. I've had a read through the (many) posts about combining postage with Simple Delivery and after messaging the buyer, they asked I put the 2 items into 1 parcel. I did this and messaged them to say that both items were being sent as one. I'm now left with an unused label and an 'item waiting to be dispatched' message.

I gather that after 30 days the buyer will be refunded the postage costs of the unused label. However, what do I do about the original listing.  I've tried to 'mark as dispatched' but it's in the wrong category to allow me to do this. What happens when the 'dispatch by' date is reached for this listing? Should I request a label so that it is marked as dispatched and then refund the buyer the cost of the label?

Any help would be gratefully received.

Open the unused label to mark dispatched.  Ebay will still refund the cost of the label to the buyer in 30 days.

Thanks for replying. If you mean to mark the listing, with the unused label, as dispatched, it's not available for the category I've selected.

When you generate an SD label it automatically marks the item as dispatched.

Think the penny has dropped .. if I actually purchase the label but then don't use it, the item will be marked as dispatched and the buyer will be refunded.

Yes, that's right.   Even though it's been paid for by the buyer it remains unused because it hasn't been scanned.
