Just a heads up that Royal Mail have switched off all services to Canada due to the postal strikes there. I cannot buy postage to send my international order this morning.
People from Canada can still buy my items so I think it needs to be a blanket site wide introduction of a restriction or there will be lots of unhappy buyers/sellers dealing with the issue.
In the mean time I have just added it to my excluded countries.

Yes, all services to Canada are suspended until further notice.
Also, any items already sent are going to be sitting in a warehouse somewhere...

Good point. I have sent quite a lot in the last few weeks to Canada so hopefully some sort of protection will be introduced so that buyers can't open cases and have them closed in their favour when they will eventually be delivered.

IDS who currently own Royal Mail also own Canada Post.

Well before the strike items were delivered to Canada in their own time and at snails pace - our record for there is 8 months!
I've one customer who bought an item, had it refunded and then he worked out how to refund the refund through my paypal directly. One of my best regulars and a customer for over 10 years, ever since he just patiently waits, sometimes for months, for things to arrive because now he knows I'll refund if it goes missing without him having to open a case within eBay's timescales - though so far everything gets there, touch wood.
There's a reason Canadians are the nicets people in the world, its their infinite patience!
