A buyer claims 6 days after receiving the parcel that it was the wrong item! The buyer adds photos of the item which is nothing like the item I sent as a seller, not is the packaging anything like the package I sent. They are claiming they did not receive the item I sent them. I know I put the correct label on the only package I sent that day and that they received it as I have the tracking and delivery proof. This seems ludicrous. Has anyone else experienced something like this? Thanks.

Do you have any photos of the package you sent?
If not, you could be in a spot of bother here.

Maybe the tracking shows a photo of the item/packaging that was handed over to the customer on delivery?

On a similar note, ALWAYS beware if especially Parcel Force or APC Couriers collect an item. Even though I print and double check the labels, I had one collection last year-a VERY high value oil lamp which was correctly labelled with name, address+postcode. Driver turns up and puts his own pre-printed label over mine-no problem, you may think. A week later, my buyer is screaming that his lamp had not arrived. Found his local couriers depot-turns out that THEIR label which was stuck over mine said "Mr. John Smith-Portsmouth-UK"-and that was all!! If I had not checked, the courier told me the item would be held for up to 6 months!! So please, people, beware of couriers bearing their own labels!!

Well, I hope the deliver person does have a photo of the handover.
The couriers don't stick labels on the parcels. The sender does.
Has this buyer had any previous issues claiming the wrong package was sent to her?
I just don't understand why she waited 6 days to message me about this.

So I send an item in good faith and something goes wrong somewhere, or the buyer is lying, and I am the one to "be in a spot of bother" you say?
I don't see how the label couldn have fallen off the parcel as it was a sticky label that I stuck to a plain plastic bag parcel.

Thank you for your reply, but I dropped it at the Evri service point, they did not put any label on it.
Very odd! And how do you prove that what you sent was the item bought?

sounds like a scam to me ,and sadly I think with this buyer protection fee ,sellers are in for a bad time

That wasn't a criticism. Just personal experience talking. There were reasons I used to do photos of every stage of packing. Mostly to protect myself from eBay and on occasions so I could pass them through to the client as it would help them unpack without damaging anything.
Without photos you have no proof and based off my experience I'd wager eBay will more than likely side with the buyer in this scenario.
Others may think differently?

ask to see the label as does it have the same weight on it as the package you sent .

Okay thanks for explaining.
I had briefly wondered about taking photos but never had a problem before and didn’t.
