I might be being stupid here as I couldn’t wrap my head around what the agents were telling me on webchat.
basically, I just started my business account, I sold a few items but to just focus on 3:
I sold a ps4 game - which to my understanding should be charged @ 9.9%
I also sold an electrical fan - to my understanding this should be charged @ either 10.9% or 11.9%
and sold a halfords car charger - charged @ 8.9%
however, looking at the fee breakdown, they all show the catorgory they are listed in along with (item price x 10.6667%)
I spent over an hour speaking to someone telling me it’s ’pre Vat’ then told me the catorgories were charged the same, then admitted he was wrong on that, then started saying other pointless reasons, then just told me to refer to the breakdown.
it doesn’t bother me too much at all as they are all being charged the same % so it’s easier for me to calculate my profits on an item. I just need to know if this is right and if so, how?
surely if all 3 are different catorgories, all charged at different value fees, then this should mean the 10.67 should be different for all listings?
on a side note: I’m unsure wether the information I was reading was in date, but it came directly from eBay’s seller fees webpage. The web agent was telling me though that the operating fee is 0.42% or something, yet my breakdown shows it as 0.35.
he also told me the fixed listing price is 30p (which I was under that same assumption myself), however, my fixed fee has only been 25p for every listing. Just really confused on how their webpage figures on sellers fees aren’t matching the breakdown I’m getting?
sorry for the long post. It’s been a long day and wanted to make sure I included all information that may be needed to avoid questions

I'm assuming you have upgraded your account from a private seller one?
If so were the items in question listed before you upgraded the account?
It appears that you have been charged the old private seller fees (before they were replaced with the Buyer Protection Fee) of 12.8% plus 30p (10.6667 + 20% VAT = 12.8 and 25p + 20% VAT = 30p).
The Regulatory Fee is 0.35% + VAT = 0.42% so that is correct.
Going forward you should be charged as per the percentages you have outlined plus VAT and a fixed fee of 30p plus VAT.

Now that would make sense considering they were all charged the same value, I’m sure that private seller fee was across all catorgories too?
one reply and I’ve already made more progress than the webchat.
to answer your question, yes I’ve upgraded from a private seller (in which I had no selling or listing fees)
I’m pretty sure one that sold was listed after becoming a business, but I updated every single listing and higher end the price a little since turning to a business as my customers no longer incurs buyer protection, during this I had to upgrade every single listing to allow returns. Seems a bit odd they would charge me old private seller fees for a business account when I wasn’t even charged those fees while being a private seller.
So, according to you, this is incorrect for my situation? I’m unsure how I can dispute this after being on chat to 2 agents and a phone call which I’m apparently waiting for a phone call back, all of them seem clueless to this.
now I’ve got a better idea of the numbers and what’s going on I may stand a better chance at disputing this
can I confirm that this link is correct to the seller fees I should be charged?
Seems the agent was correct about the 0.42% but rather than explain why this was showing as 0.35% he just corrected me telling him it says I’m being charged 0.35% and told me it was 0.42 not 0.35, if he explained that it’s 0.42% with vat it would have saved so much time.
I do however blame the fact on the agent missing the main point. It doesn’t matter about any additional fees I had, he went on to tell me it was due to the promotion fee I was charged on the one listing which was incorrect. The only real thing that mattered from the start of the webchat is the fact every cat was 10.6667%
I appreciate the help and sorry for the long posts, as well as being frustrated with the situation I also suffer from adhd/autism, but I’m usually pretty good with my numbers.

Your problem is that it may not be incorrect, but rather how Ebay's charging processes work in these circumstances.
As they are not published anywhere you can't really dispute it. I would try and let it go and concentrate on your business.

I certainly wouldn't worry about disputing it. It can take a while for an account to fully transition when upgrading so these odd charges are probably just down to timings. It should automatically resolve itself so just keep an eye on future transactions to make sure.
Private seller fees were the same for all categories and, yes, the fee page you linked to is the correct one for business sellers.

you say they are not published anywhere? I have access to an eBay link which I posted as a reply on here to the other user who responded, which show seller fees for business accounts? These percentages were also confirmed by the agent.
Wether or not it’s outdated which I would think they would take it down, then these fees should be different across the 3 catorgories.
every single item has been charged at 12.8% and it shouldn’t really matter how their process works, as the stated percentage should be what it is (given some exceptions with small variance). Therefore my breakdown on fees where it tells me the rate for that specific category should all be different, not the same?

What I meant was the process for dealing with current listings when a seller upgrades, isn't published anywhere.
