have a plate which i know is very old but what kind of delft is it,will it be english delft ? does anyone know how you can tell if it is what you call tin glazed.anyone know the pattern ? thank you i dont know how to put photos in album.

jes150 ( 1246 It is tin-glazed and it might be English, but it is really hard to be sure unless you can find a good reference piece to compare. I would like to see a picture of the whole thing please. 1978rich ( 45 hi there thanks for that,ive looked all over the net for english delft and this pattern but cant find it. I'm not familiar with the pattern at all, but there are vast numbers of different patterns around, most unrecorded and unattributed. It looks like an 18th century piece and probably English or Dutch. The stilt marks on the back are thought to be more often an indication of English origin. |
