I’ve just wasted two auctions for an iPhone (one BIN, one standard auction), both of which were littered with action from usernames not based on UK. They were all in Zambia. Almost exclusively the offers to my Buy It Now and then the winning bid on the auction were ALL Zambia usernames locations. What’s the score? It’s a forwarding service yes? They give a UK address when they win the auction and the item goes to Zambia? Or am I missing something? It feels dodgy, I’ve cancelled the auction and the guy is now moaning to me (in perfect English) that he’s a phone dealer with a perfect record of feedback? I’m none the wiser, anyone care to explain what’s going on?

sounds dodgy most likely is dodgy cancel the sale under buyers address not recognised
Issue with Buyer's Address: If the buyer provides an incorrect or unworkable shipping address, the seller can cancel the order
the only time i have done this as in posted to zambia etc is when they use a genuine forwarding company and not his mate who lives in the uk

I didn’t even get to see the address but apparently it was West Sussex so I don’t know if was a forwarding company or a domestic address - I cancelled before he paid. He’s still whining and pleading his case (says he’s been in business 6 years with no dramas etc) but he’s been polite and decent about it. Maybe I was over cautious in cancelling - oh well. Thanks for the reply.

Assuming it's a forwarding address, which it almost certainly is, the buyer has no ebay money back guarantee protection, but may still be able to do a chargeback. I have never seen a post about a chargeback from an overseas buyer.

It may be a friend or relative of the Buyer in the UK posting on the parcels to Zambia, or an Export Freight Company.
I have posted via UK Export Freight all over the world with no problems, BUT the items were of little value.
I personally would cancel any International bound sale if the item was of great value as there can be many problems, chargebacks, returns, did not arrive etc etc. I would cancel stating problem with address.
There is no need to contact the eBayer.
Also, if I decided to continue selling a item I would list it 'Sell Similar' so it would get a new eBay Number.
