When Simple Delivery Goes Wrong

I have just had an item returned, as Evri damaged the packaging, in transit. The Post Office receiving the parcel on behalf of the customer refused to accept it.

The item inside the parcel is undamaged. Who is liable? I have NO contract with Evri, as I am not the customer. The contract is between eBay and Evri. The customer buys postage directly from eBay, not the seller.

I cannot even reprint a label or create a new label, as the postage option has expired. eBay phone support were their usual unhelpful selves, acting as though it had never happened before and have now got to escalate it and I should expect a reply within 24/48 Hours.

Not good enough. My customer has been deprived of their item and I can't even resend it them.

eBay should keep their noses out of postage and concentrate on facilitating eBay sales. The postal discounts they get, aren't worth the hassle and inflexibility it causes. Simple Delivery it maybe, until it goes wrong, or changes need to be made.

Also any mentors on the forum who are going to Jedi mind trick me into thinking Simple Delivery is wonderful, please save it.

I think you've done the right thing, and just have to wait for the Escalation Team.

Almost all of your items are under £20, do you know you can list these with Custom Postage now? Or you could become a Business Seller. Either way you could leave SD behind!
