Ebay you are killing the platform, change back!! how many others have had huge drops in sales since the UK rules changed in April?
Someone please explain - seller protection fee..., for real
someone please explain - delays in payment until two days after delivery for private sellers, why?
someone please explain - forced simple delivery??
someone please explain that this all has nothing to do with the huge decline in customers and site traffic
Amen

Drop in sales is happening across all platforms, you can google to see how they're all down on traffic. There's no seller protection fee, it's a buyer protection fee when buying from private sellers as they don't get any consumer protection. Can't really say SD and delayed payment have anything to do with it when the decline is across all platforms. April can be a slow month due to most things going up that month in the UK

It was a typo on the buyer protection fee, why does this fee not become refunded if the protection is not required? where does the fee go? This is a real issue and coincidently has happened since ebay forced the buyer fee, all i see online and on SM is everyone complaining about ebay - no other sites. Our company sales down 70% since March, private account is not even worth bothering with now as items appear overpriced to potential customers. Simple delivery is not, still no solid answers.. i have been selling for almost 20 years on various platforms and accounts, ebay is by far the worse now, is ebay just a bot site now? it seems very unrealistic to sell on there now unless you are a generic seller of cheap imported goods or clones.

AFAIK it's really simple for sellers - no fees, free postage. All you need to do is pick size category at listing time.

In my experience, drop in sales happens with warm weather and especially before Easter long weekend.

AFAIK in Simple Delivery there are no fees for sellers. Did you mean the buyer-paid "buyer protection fee"?

Probably to protect buyers - give them enough time to report problems with the item. The more buyers feel protected, the more they'll buy on the platform, which is good for sellers.

What do you mean not become refunded if the protection is not required? Read what Buyer Protection Fee entails according to ebay. It covers a Customer Service function and a secure payment provider service. The fees cover the cost of providing those services. That is where the fees go. Its the equivalent of the FVF for business sellers. Nothing more.
It may well be that these changes have caused a drop in sales though.
