Royal Mail Tracked 48 Signed For missing from the list of services.

I always like to send my parcels "Signed for",  in theory it stops the postman simply leaving the parcel on the door step or in a bin. I use the "2nd Class Signed for" service if the item is up to £20 but if it is worth more than that I want the up to £150 cover of "RoyalMail Tracked 48 Signed for" so I have to buy on the Royal Mail site and copy the details back and forth.  It would be so much easier if the Tracked 48 signed for service was in the list of services available.

I've just tried to send and item with 48 hour Tracked as advertised and paid for by my customer but that option is not available anymore.

I hope Ebay sort this out

Which device are you using ?

I'm on a laptop and using Chrome and it's there in the postage options.  If you're on the app or mobile browser switch if you can to a PC / laptop,  use Chrome and try from there for now.

If you select 'Royal Mail Tracked 48' from the list, scroll down, and on the left hand side you will see:

' Package Protection'  Require proof of delivery (£1.70), with a tick box, I assume the proof is a signature, so add that if you want it.

Royal Mail Tracked 48 Signed For missing from the list of services.

When I first tried to use RM Tracked 48 Signed for (some time ago) and it wasn't specifically listed in the services I spoke to Ebay CS and they advised to use the Royal Mail web page, buy post there and transfer the tracking details back to the ebay item, I wasn't told about "require proof of delivery" option and I don't think it was there.  I have just checked the extra charge for that option and it is the difference between signed and non signed. So thanks and I will try it next time I have somthing to sell over £20.

The problem with ebay is that it is a bit of a moving target, features and changes just happen for no obvious reason and you have to dig around to work out what is going on. As an ex IT Consultant I would never have got away with it with my customers - Facebook is even worse........

As an ex IT person I have access to most platforms and usually use Chrome on a Win 11 PC however I use tablets and phone but never the app.  I don't believe that this is a browser problem but I have just been pointed in the direction of the "require proof of delivery" option right at the bottom of the list of services that may well be the "upgrade" to signed for RM tracked services. (but doesn't explicitly say so) I will try when I sell somthing else. (see my later post below)

Thanks

How odd then that I can see the option on my laptop when using Chrome.

Others though are experiencing issues with printing 48 hr tracked RM labels,  perhaps a temporary site glitch then with RM 48 hour tracked delivery options?

May be worth contacting Customer Services see if they know f any issues,  please do come back and tell us if there are,  it can help us to help others with the same problem.

If you contact them mow as there's more chance of Dublin answering.

This is the easiest and quickest way to contact eBay Customer Services, for a Call Back option.

 https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/eua?id=5275&mkevt=1&mkpid

Lines open between 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays.

9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends.

As said,  I recommend contacting CS very first thing in the morning, when the lines first open,  as there's more chance of Dublin answering.
