Private seller Isle of Man Simple Delivery

Been selling on ebay for more than 10 years - being forced to use simple delivery - IM post codes (sellers) can only get parcelforce service as an option. My sales are majority small/large letter 0-250g and value of less than £5. Any suggestions.

I also sell on ebay from IOM.

I have just been through a tortuous "chat" with an ebay agent (after strangling the useless AI bot!) the response was:

"you can continue selling and posting like earlier as I have just checked and this simple delivery update is only for the UK MAINLAND, so you would not need to do anything in this.

Re: Private seller Isle of Man Simple Delivery

Thanks for replying - I too messaged CS and was told if I could not use the label produced, providing I had a receipt for postage actually paid, I could claim the label value back from ebay (as if that is going to happen!). Interestingly the T&C state that items sent from IM postcodes will take 3-5 days longer to arrive. Only time will tell if it works or not

Sue

I took my listings off when this "Simple" nonsense was announced.

I generally send postage "free" so will try one item after it is mandatory & see what happens!

I also sent regular postage at my risk - but it took so long to get paid as the last buyer did not bother to give Feedback, so, from now on it will be Signed For, which, in IOM, you can no longer use at the IOMPO counter - they only offer it if they collect from you - bizarre! [I  was forced to pay for Special Delivery to send in my old passport ... which still took 2 working days to get there...]

Have you actually listed/sold anything yet under Simple Delivery? Supposed to kick in Monday, 7 April...

Re: Private seller Isle of Man Simple Delivery

I operate three users and have hundreds of low value items listed - I send most by ordinary post, with the occasional tracked item (purchased online but but in a post box) based on value of the item. Tried to use simple for my latest sales, but the only option they could offer was Parcelforce at £14 for an item that cost £2, so cancelled and sent using stamps for £1 - I know I will have to wait for the funds  ebay is currently holding around £300 as most of my items are not tracked but ebay have started releasing funds when feedback received - this is new. Will let you know how I get on after the 7th and 15th April
