Suggestion of best courier companies to send expensive item including compensation for  @£200, just in case it goes missing during transit/delivery?

The postage tool does not show the compensation anymore.

Look at the individual courier sites.  I think RM Special delivery might be what you need though.

The best option would be to use Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed By 1:00pm, as if the item is lost or damaged in transit you can claim compensation up to a maximum amount of £750.00.  If you want a greater level of cover then for an extra cost you can purchase enhanced protection that would enable you to claim up to £2,500.00 in the event that the item was lost or damaged in transit.

Depends on weight and size of item. If the value is Apx £200 Special Delivery Royal Mail is one option, tracked services only cover you to £150.

Parcel force standard 24 & 48 both cover you up to £150, but for an extra couple of quid you can upgrade to £200. Compensation can be upgraded to £2500 at a cost.

Make sure your item is actually covered by the couriers, or RMs compensation policy though

Many items are excluded from cover, and they'll take your money then refuse to pay out, and just point to their terms and conditions that said your item is excluded from compensation.
