Nightmare Simple Delivery if you don't have a printer

You can't opt out of Simple Delivery after 15 April so I don't know what to do.

I always have Royal Mail not only collect my sales, but also to print my label. However, if eBay have automatically deducted the label cost, I'd have to pay for postage again when I book on the Royal Mail site for collection.

THIS ISNT GOING TO WORK EBAY, where's our freedom of choice! Are you purposely trying to discourage private sellers?

Kat at ebay has said:
Other options would be if you have another device (camera, tablet) that can take a picture of the QR code and bring that to the post office.   Evri also offer the option to type in the code at their locations so you can set your postage preferences to Evri to get those labels.   They are working on bringing in a printerless collection option.

Re: Nightmare Simple Delivery if you don't have a printer

I too have items collected and Royal Mail bring the label to me I don't have a printer or a device with QR code facility so I will be listing items for collection only if this issue cannot be resolved to accommodate those of us who are unable to take their items physically to a Post Office or have a printer /smart device which is very sad for many people

Re: Nightmare Simple Delivery if you don't have a printer

Once you've got the RM label, go to the RM website, enter the tracking number and order a collection. Yes, it's 30pence but that's a lot less than it will cost in petrol or time taking it to a Post Office. Also, collection by RM has been FREE for the last two years so we can't really complain.

Thanks for your reply and your help, that is really useful to know and will they ( hopefully ) still bring me a label as I don't have a printer or access to one . Thanks again for taking the time to help me.

Yes as far as I know, when you're on the RM website, you go to the Parcel Collect section and it says they can bring a label as well. If you Google "Can Royal Mail bring a label when they collect?" that should take you to the right place.

I went onto this link and it asks me to enter the tracking number etc on there so thank you. That's been a massive help. It's sad really all the changes as many private sellers ( I think ) use their money from sales to repurchase from other sellers on ebay but with simple delivery and funds being held onto even when it shows delivered and decent feedback left mine wasn't released for another 48 hours a couple of weeks ago even though the person was happy with their item. I just want to get my money out quicker now rather than browse and shop as I used to.  Thanks for the advice I really appreciate it.

Re: Nightmare Simple Delivery if you don't have a printer

Were you able to ask them to bring the label with them? When Simple Delivery launched, bring the label wasn't available - they were apparently hoping to provide it the future - so I wondered if it is now. thanks

Hi

I haven't sold any items since I was given the advice so I haven't tried to book a collection & ask them to bring the label. As soon as I do I will let you know on here 🙂
