Cannot generate Royal Mail postage label

I’ve been trying to generate a Royal Mail International Standard postage label, & keep getting the error message “Something is wrong.  Please try again later”.

I’ve bought postage via EBay’s new system since it was enforced this year, & this is my first problem with it.

The EBay rep on live chat could only say that they would pass it to the Specialised Team, & I would receive an email response.  Needless to say, no response has been received. 

I have tried many times on both the App & website, cleared cache, logged out/ in etc with no luck.

If I buy the postage directly from Royal Mail, will EBay allow me to mark it as dispatched ??

Any ideas to solve this problem would be gratefully received.   Thank you.

This happens every so often. You're not alone, I can't dispatch anything either but it does normally work within a few hours. It's eBay with a technical issue and hopefully it'll be sorted out quickly.

Same problem. "RM are experiencing difficulties, please try later". Very annoying.

Same here, I can't buy any Royal Mail labels through ebay at all, all options have gone.  Looks like I'm not posting today then.

I can buy labels from the Royal Mail website though, doesn't show any issues on there

I’ve ended up buying the label through my Royal Mail Click & Drop account, which I used prior to eBay forcing their postage system upon us.

I had to copy & paste the buyer’s address as it’s no longer linked to eBay, but was able to buy the label through Royal Mail directly with no problem. 

EBay let me mark it as dispatched & add the tracking number.  Hopefully there will be no issues when the funds are released, as there is no label showing on eBay as being purchased through them.

Has anyone found a solution ebay said they will sort it out for me been a week or so yet no labels are being generated and won’t even let me add tracking to previous sold items.

I eventually received a reply from eBay -

“…there was some temporary issue on our site which caused the error. Our technical team is aware of this issue and I've flagged your account.

I can confirm you've managed to get the label outside of eBay and promptly informed the buyer. Our IT team is working on the postage label technical issue and will be resolved soon.”

Another reason to hate the compulsory ‘Simple’ Delivery.  Buying directly using Royal Mail’s Click & Drop is far easier.

"Temporary issue" = ebay speak for months of them doing nothing to get it sorted!
