Buying postage through ebay doesn’t always work

I have found out that if you buy your postage  through ebay, it does not give you the Bring A Label option. The ebay rep and I had a long chat about it today, and she assured me that it is the same whether you go through ebay or straight to the Royal Mail. She was wrong.

So when you realise you can't get them to Bring A Label, you have already paid the postage; it took them about 3 seconds to take the money. And yet it takes 30 DAYS to refund it to your account.

That's absolutely outrageous behaviour from eBay!  It sounds more in keeping with the kind of behaviour that you'd expect from an online scammer.  As with any scam, the main problem is that once they've got your money it can be extremely difficult to get it back again.  Therefore, when you next need to buy postage labels, cut out the middleman and buy your postage labels directly from the courier that you are going to use to post your sold items to their buyers.  So long as you upload the relevant tracking details manually against the items in question as soon as possible after posting you shouldn't come unstuck by using this method to buy your postage labels, rather than purchasing them directly from eBay.
