How do I get an idea into eBay’s suggestion box? When a buyer checks out and pays for his purchase, it would help to also have their email address . Most decent couriers have made them selves more efficient by updating tracking info daily, by email. So when I buy a label , having the buyer’s email address at hand, it can be given to the courier. Anyone else agree?
thanks guys.

Business sellers do get an email address (at least an ebay hashed version that simply forwards onto the sellers actual email). Unsure if Private Sellers also get this hashed ebay email.
Technically, most decent couriers would integrate with ebays systems and notify the customer anyway though.

There is an ‘ebayfied’ email address for the buyer if you go onto the order details on seller hub and click ‘show contact info’. I presume anything sent to this email address gets forwarded to the buyers inbox.

You have their email and mobile number!
View Order Details > Show contact info dropdown menu (under Buyer's name)

It will direct to the customers email though. So anything emailed to that email would go to the customer (potentially only via ebay messages though). But like I said - if you are using for example Evri - and you update the tracking number in ebay - the customer will get all the relevant notifications anyway.

Thank you, I stand corrected. It seems you would have to message them for an actual email address which is becoming more important for couriers as you say, especially with Royal Mail PDDP to the States.

You do not need to enter the buyers email address on royal mail when you send to the USA, it says you can use your own (senders) email address, I set up an email address purely for all royal mail tracing notifications, that way I know where the parcels are all the time and can check if something goes wrong, the buyers has the tracking number loaded into ebay so they can check the tracking if they want. I also save all royal mail labels as .pdf to my system then print them, I also log the tracking number in 2 versions, 1 with gaps and 1 without along with the qr code number and the worldpay reference number so when I have to make a claim its easy because all the info is on one place, here in the UK and a few other countries the qr code number can also be used to track items.

It does get forwarded to the buyers email though and is sufficient for your needs.
For privacy reasons, eBay is no longer displaying personal email addresses. However, you can still contact the buyer through email using their "Buyer Alias Email Address" which you can find in the View order details page.
This email alias, ending in @members.ebay.com, is unique to your communications with this buyer. You can also give email aliases to shipping carriers, so that they can securely share delivery updates with the buyer.
Messages sent using eBay alias addresses go through our secure servers before reaching a members registered email address and their eBay Messages. eBay email alias addresses support PDF, DOC, TXT, JPG, GIF, JPEG, PNG, BMP, and TIFF attachments up to a maximum size of 10 MB.
