Selling an item

Hi

I sold an item and did not scan the buyers code. What do I do? Thanks

If you mean they collected and you didn’t scan the collection code, either ask the buyer if they can supply it over eBay messages. Otherwise you will eventually get paid, but I think you have to wait about 14 days.

the buyer can however claim they didn’t receive the item and there wouldn’t be any proof.

I'd get in touch with the buyer and ask them to post feedback. If they already have, just contact eBay and they will authorise payment.

There's probably a better way but this one works as I have used it.

Not sure when you used the feedback example to release a payout,   but it will not work now under Simple Delivery rules for Private sellers.

This is eBay's announcement re payouts:

From 6 August, we’re also making it easier and faster for our more experienced sellers to receive their funds. This means you can get your funds within 24 hours of the buyer paying. To qualify for faster payment, all you’ll need to do is:

  • Complete at least 10 sales with a total of £150 or more within the last 5 years
  • Maintain 2 or fewer cases in the last 12 months

The sender said they would send a feedback but haven’t yet and they aren’t responding to my messages

I thought it only qualified for posted items anyway, not collection.

to be honest it’s either get the code, or you’re waiting 14 days.
