Payment on hold

Hi, it's been a while since I last sold anything on eBay, it's all changed now. Sold an item, marked as paid and dispatched, my payment on hold until item has been delivered. Is this the normal now? Would put me off selling again. Thanks to anyone that can explain this to me

Yes payments for new and occasional sellers are now held for 21 days after the sale

If you use tracked delivery, funds may be released sooner once tracking shows delivery has taken place

It's purely for security reasons.

eBay have none of your selling history,  so they need proof from tracking,  to show the buyer has received their item.

If this wasn't in place,  anyone could come on eBay , sell expensive items,  take the money and not post out the items.

Once you've established yourself as a Good eBayer, this hold ceases,  and you can withdraw money on a daily basis if you wish.

eBay has 'amended' its payments on hold rules TWICE within the last two weeks !!

The original decision and rule change stated that if items were sent untracked, with no proof of delivery, the Seller had to wait 14 days, even if the Buyer left Positive feedback, (which obviously confirms delivery)

After thousands of complaints from angry Sellers, eBay's payments on hold rules have changed again !!

Now it transpires, items sent via standard mail (without tracking and without proof of delivery) WITH A VALUE OF LESS THAN £10 will get the money released with just POSITIVE feedback two days later.

(Sellers no longer have to wait 14 days to get their money for low value items).

I somehow think this is too little too late, with many eBay Sellers already leaving the platform

I have sold an item that arrived on 5th march. It was posted with another item and i sent the buyer a discount for postage. The funds for one item have been recieved but for the other are on hold. Buyer has left feedback but for some reason tracking is showing peding delivery for one, not the other. Ebay help assistant is totally useless and am i going to be out of pocket everytime i discount postage? This is more hassle than its worth!

I sold an item on the 15th March, the buyer has collected, left + feedback, My eBay says collected but TheifBay are telling me I have to wait 15 days for payout. 

What planet are these thieves living on?
