A little frustrated with this new payment set up. Used Ebay for years for buying and selling. The new buyer protection thing I'd imagine puts potential buyers off thinking the seller is adding it. Yes, there's an explanation but people tend not to go beyond what they see.
My gripe however, is the new payments process for sellers.
I sold an item last Thursday, sent it via a trackable service on the Friday, I could use those funds for postage so thats something. The item arrived as scheduled via the tracking service on the Monday, the buyer kindly left immediate positive feedback. The funds have only just been released today (Thursday). 3 days after it was confirmed as arriving and a total of 7 days since it was sent. My added annoyance, that I didn't realise is, I sold another item during the period I was waiting for my funds. Again, I used the pending payment for a trackable postage service. I thought those funds came from that particular sale but they took it from the original sale. So, expecting around £15 to be available today, I got £8 as the second sale's postage was taken from the original sale. I know I get the overall amount in the long run but have to wait approximately another 5 days for it.
I can't help but think this is a flawed process. I get that it encourages sellers to be prompt with sending items but feel the minute an item is delivered (assuming a tracking service is used) the funds should be released, not adding on 2-3 days. Seems unfair all round to me.
