simple delivery - need home parcel collection from Royal Mail, does not seem to be an option

Simple delivery is proving to be a headache - up to now I have had all parcels collected from my home by Royal Mail - have sold my first item since updating my items to simple delivery, and there seems to be no option to arrange home collection, though I read and was told in a chat session that this would be possible - I don't have a smart phone or a printer, therefore cannot do QR codes - could not get past the bot on the help/chat page

There are two services, firstly to book a collection you need to go via the Royal Mail website and book it there.

in answer to your second part there is no workaround. I can only suggest have you got a friend who could print the label for you? 

The bring my label service that Royal Mail have may come online with eBay but it’s not in football terms part of the kick off tomorrow.

'There are two services, firstly to book a collection you need to go via the Royal Mail website and book it there' - this is what I have been doing up to now to buy postage and get them to collect and bring the label - now we are on 'simple delivery'(seems anything but simple) can I still book the Royal Mail parcel collection even though the payment side of things has already been handled through ebay? obvs i don't wish to incur another charge for postage - many thanks

This becomes mandatory from tomorrow so it is essential you are well informed.

You can book a RM collection but you have to print the labels.  If you can't print a label or use a QR code, you can't use Simple Delivery.

The buyer pays Ebay direct for the postage.  If you circumvent the system and pay independently to send, you will not get your money back and you won't get paid promptly as the tracking will use the details from Simple Delivery.

thanks for your helpful reply - have tried to book a collection but no label provision without buying a label - QR code is downloadable, so will go to the Post Office with my parcel and my laptop and see how I get on. Ebay seems to have lost the plot on this mandatory 'simple delivery' - don't get me started on the parcel weight bands, a parcel that is 2kg - 10kg being charged £10.55 when the actual cost direct from RM is £6.80 - sales obviously will be affected
