Any annoyance rather then a problem. I buyer sees this message as soon as the seller initiates the purchase of an address label. It can be purchased but not "despatched" for a day or two. Annoys me so much, that in the past I have re-marked my items at not "despatched" until physically scanned and left at a post office. I've given up.
Can't that message be changed to something more appropriate? eBay now picks up third party tracking info from the courier. Couldn't "Sender has despatched item" be issued then?

Yep, it's an annoying , trigger that label, and it marks the item immediately, as dispatched!
Many things are not perfect with Simple Delivery, that's for sure, will they change the above, who knows, but my money is on a .... No !

A simple solution would be to not buy the label until closer to dispatch time.

eBay is now capable of solving some difficult issues, this not being one of them.

It's also not all about the sellers experience. As buyers, we see out of hours notification of despatch and know why. But how many buyers then keep checking the daily status to find out its still in limbo land? Times, I've said to myself, "how long does it take to post a small parcel".

The only relevant date is estimated delivery one.
Buyers can't do anything until after this date.

Do anything? No one mentioned "do anything". You have completely missed the point. Try re-reading.

Not sure what you mean, it shouldn't be a difficult issue
If your item sells and you're not dispatching it for two days then simply don't get the label until the day you're ready to post it. It's only marked as dispatched when you get the label.

Estimated dates while useful has nothing to do with my point. I expect a "dispatched notification to mean just that, left with a post office to begin it's journey, not the possibility it might still be at the sellers home for 2/3 days. I only ever enquire with a seller about dispatch when it runs for longer. The last time I did that the seller actually admitted to forgetting to post it!

If you don't like the ebay system (us mentors can't change it) then contact eBay CS to Complain.
Good luck with that.

My first sentence was "Any annoyance rather then a problem". I posted it because I thought someone might just pick up on this and deem it a reasonable idea. It's not worthy of a complaint. Have things changed? There was a time mentors and those senior used to pick up on issues raised by sellers in the past. Given there's been no shift on the many complaints about "simple postage" without change, I guess not.
