Hi, this is my 1st time posting here with great hopes that other members can help me or offer aome insight, since eBay reps don't do anything to help.
I'm a seller on eBay, I upcycle and sell old furniture. I make about 2 sales a month on average, value about £150 -£300 per item.
I've been selling for about 4 years, no issues.
Until now. The last 2 of my buyers haven't been able to complete their orders, they're unable to make payments, error message keeps popping up:
"Please check your payment details or use a different payment method".
Well, they both tried various payment methods, various cards and each time the same message pops up.
Strangely, when small orders are placed (value of £2), these payments went through with no issues.
All the OBVIOUS solutions don't work.
I cleared the cache, I have an updated version of eBay app.
There is no problem with my eBay seller account (or so they repeatedly tell me).
I've been selling with no issues for 4 years.
The last buyer actually rang eBay multiple times. She also rang her bank (Lloyd's and 1 other). Its been a week and there's still no resolution. The issue seems to be somewhere between eBay and the banks...But eBay staff seems unwilling/incapable to help. In the meantime, I am unable to sell my furniture because people aren't able to pay me!
I cannot get eBay staff to help me, they keep telling me there's nothing wrong with my account, that my account is fine. It's all peachy but if my account is fine, why can't I sell anymore?! Why do payments get blocked? Using a different payment method doesn't remedy the situation.
I've had this issue with more than 1 seller but they won't take my report because the issue is "not my account".
The last buyer got the following reply from Lloyd's: " I understand that your payment was declined by doing the transaction. I reviewed your account and your online shopping transaction has been declined because the Company that you are trying to purchase goods/services from has not submitted it for approval using the correct Fraud prevention measures (those that are required by Strong Customer Authentication regulations (SCA). I request you to try doing transaction with another card or speak to the merchant to discuss alternative methods of payment".
So above is the answer she got from Lloyd's customer rep. Who knows if they're right. The problem is that she used several cards and got the same error message! I used 3 various cards (when I attempted to buy my own item from my other eBay account) and also got THE SAME error message.
Additional fact: I have 2 different eBay accounts and I listed a few of my items on my old account that I haven't used in 3 years. Then I tried to "buy it from myself", just as an experiment, just to see if payments go through. Unfortunately, the exact same thing is happening, the same error message! I tried 3 different cards.
So I'm experiencing the same issue as my buyer, it's happening on BOTH my accounts. My furniture cannot be paid for, regardless of what account I list them on.
The issue is on eBay's side, but we can't get them to help us.
I apologies for this chaotic post but it's been a month now and there's no progress.
EBay tells me there's nothing wrong with my account and they request that a buyer reports it, not me. The buyer reports it, but its been over a week and they still haven't given her a solution!
Please help...

That's very odd. As buyers pay ebay there should be no link between the inability to pay and anything to do with your account.
I think you will have to ask ebay CS for help with this.
