I really do not understand. As part of the payment process the buyer pays you the sale price plus postage.
You then buy the postage, whether courier or Royal Mail. Therefore the buyer providing a label seems out of place.
As it is now likely to be difficult to sort out I would suggest that you either buy a label direct or go to the post office and pay there.

OP is using simple delivery.
So seller does not get postage money.

With simple delivery if the postal label is no good, you can not buy another one or void it,so will have to cancel the transaction in accordance with the policy.
Let the buyer know the situation, and when you cancel they will be refunded automatically.
You may well find you can opt out of simple delivery on the sell form and use your own postage options
