eCP number ommited - Sent Special Delvery

I have sent a package without the required eCP number. The package was mailed special delivery signed for meaning I can track it.

Can I send the eCP Number to be attached to the package on delivery?

If not will the package be sent back to me.

It is a valuable item.

If you omit the eCP number, it won't be accepted.

The shop (Argos etc.) can't log your parcel, can't match the recipient to the parcel and won't get paid for handling it.  You can't contact them with the eCP number.

They should hand the item back to the postman and it should make its way back to you.

When you get it back, contact the buyer to let them know what has happened.

Sending it again will be your responsibility.

eCP number ommited - Sent Special Delvery

Hi jckl1957,

Thanks for your message. Today I will attempt to have the eCP number added to the parcel while in transit. The Royal Mail website states that this indeed possible.

Another option that has been outlined is that the eBay team are able to get a notification number affixed to the parcel on delivery to the collection point long as the team has my mobile 'phone number.

The ommition of the eCP number appears to happen frequently meaning that viable solutions are nessasary. Surely disposing of  items without an eCP is frankly barbaric leaning toward being illegal?

All Very Best,

Phil

eCP number ommited - Sent Special Delvery

I have just this morning seen a reply from a member , buyer this time,  in a similar situation, no eCP number was added to the parcel,  so the store could not identify or hand over the item to the buyer.

Buyer contacted eBay Customer Services,  they managed to get a great agent who contacted the store,  provided that all essential number and the buyer received their item.

Contact Customer Services,  but do so only when the lines first open in a few minutes at 9 a.m. today as there's more chance of Dublin answering,  I would strongly advise only speaking to them, or you may receive the German Call Centre hopefully they'll be knowledgeable too, on our ' Argos ' and similar stores here,  more so than the usual Philippine CS.

This is the easiest and quickest way to contact eBay Customer Services from the link below, for a Call Back option.  I do recommend contacting CS very first thing in the morning when the lines first open,  as there's more chance of Dublin answering.

Hopefully they can add this number for you,  you can but ask!

Lines open between 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays.

9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends.

I don't think I said it would be disposed of.

I said it would be handed back to the postie and make its way back to you.

Good luck with getting the eCP added.
