I had put two items in the package to save time, a buyer had bought several items from me but each time she had to buy postage which is unfair on her when it would be cheaper if I could put everything in one package. Also unfair on me because of my time to package and cost of packaging material. So now that I've sent it one of the items is showing dispatched but not delivered, given that I will not get paid till it is delivered, not sure what to do now, the package that I put the two items together has been delivered. Sorry this is the best I can explain it.

It is currently Not possible to combine postage when using Simple Delivery. eBay say it's a technical issue that they are working on, but it's certainly been a while and no fix date being announced.
The best way here would be to cancel the items saying buyer requests to cancel , this will refund the buyer and your seller performance is not affected , then relist the items together, so you'll have one postage label, and one tracking number.
If the buyer paid for the original labels, they will be refunded for this.
You'd need to message the buyer to explain the actions taken above, and make it very, very clear in your messages that the items being delisted will be relisted for the buyer to buy on eBay again . Make it clear this is Not an off eBay sale, as eBay do read all messages going through their system.
For your case as the items have been posted together you will not be able to mark both as dispatched, message the buyer explaining what you have done. Explain eBay will refund the postage labels not used, and it can take up to 30 days for the refund to appear.
