Hi,
I have just sold an item and the buyer has paid for it as well as delivery as stated in the original listing.
I selected the default postage suggested by ebay when I listed it.
Now when I check the Royal Mail/Parcel Force site, I see that it exceeds the maximum allowed dimension on one side for a "Medium parcel".
Clearly I want the parcel to be accepted at the post office and I am happy to pay the difference between the Medium parcel rate and the Large parcel rate.
If that can't be done I will pay the Large parcel rate and suck up the cost.
However, I can't seem to change the original label or cancel it so that I can enter the correct dimensions and pay the right postage costs.
I need to send this tomorrow so I am concerned how to proceed.
Somewhere on the ebay site it does say that the courier will accept the package even though it's larger or heavier than what's shown on the label as long as it's within their maximum limits. (see image). So in theory they should accept it but I'm not sure that the guy behind the counter at the post office will think the same thing.
Does anyone know what I should do to get this posted and not mess around my buyer?
Thanks

Sometimes you can change the label. Click on Get Prepaid Label and under the heading Package details click on the pencil icon and you should get: "No extra charge. Changing your package size won’t cost you anything".
If that's not there it's best to cancel/refund the transaction and relist with correct postage. Or buy your own postage. You would receive the payment but it will be held for about 14 days. You can message the buyer with the new tracking details but the option to upload a different tracking number is not usually available. You would still be able to add the new number to a "not received" case if the buyer opened one though.

It's on the page that you get after clicking on "Get prepaid label". If it's not there then it's not available. If you can't change the label you wont be able to cancel it either. You'll have to cancel the whole transaction, with the buyer's agreement. And relist with correct postage for them to buy again.
