why do I need a credit card to prove my age I have never had one and will never had one, I was born in 1964. I am 61 ? I can supply my driving licence, passport a utility bill.. All I wanted to do is buy a pair of hairdressing scissors

Because that's how ebay has chosen to verify age for purchases on their site.

I will never have a credit card or will I have to. So you have lost trade as you can see I regularly use eBay. For the sake of a pair of scissors. Have a good day
