The New Rules and Global Shipping Service

At the moment about half of the items I send abroad go via Royal Mail Tracked, the other half by Royal Mail Standard. The items I send by the standard service are usually low-value, and when the rules change I will probably have to switch to using the Global Shipment Service - while it's sometimes more expensive for the customer, and I can't offer combined postage when it's used, it just won't make any sense for me to pay say £17 to send an item that nets me a couple of pounds, and when I use Global Shipping I only pay the UK postage. This leaves me wondering - If payment won't be received until the customer gets the goods, what's going to happen about the Global Shipping Service?

Do I get paid once the package is in eBay's hands? If not, why not?

If I use this service the only proof of postage I have is proof that the package was sent to eBay - once the customer receives the item I eventually get notified, but what happens if the package gets lost somewhere in the system?

Who sorts this out, and how long do I have to wait for payment?

Anyone know?

Thanks - I was hoping that was the case but I don't use GSP much - if that's really how it works that's probably my best choice. It'll save a lot of time with pricing and organizing overseas postage too.
