Trying to list items and its automatically going to simple postage

I use Royal Mail for everything

System lets you eventually select Royal Mails but the price of the postage is not enough and it will cost me more to post the items.

Why has Ebay changed something that worked perfectly good before?

You could pick how you would send the items and pick your postage costs

Come on Ebay get back to basics!

It seems to me it is all down to profit. When the system fails as everything ebay does goes wrong, then sellers having to use Simple Postage will be stuffed.

With your low value items you should be able to continue using Advanced Postage, so much better than being dictated to.

You can deselect Evri so that Royal Mail is the only postage offered on your listings.

The price is immaterial.  The buyer will pay Ebay the postage price then Ebay will send you a label or a QR code for you to print the label or get it printed at the Post Office.

You will no longer pay for the postage with Simple Delivery.

Available carriers and delivery options

You'll automatically be opted in to use all carriers that are available in this programme. If you would prefer not to send your items with a particular carrier, go to the Simple Delivery settings in your Postage preferences - opens in new window or tab and adjust the toggle next to the carrierT
