Simple Delivery - cannot select small letter

Does anyone else have an issue when listing, and trying to change postage option to small letter . It only gives me an option for large letter, but it's a postcard! I went onto the chat and the operative said, "

I have checked the details for you and can see that you have selected the correct package size as 1 kg which eBay has recommended -  Please be assured, If you use the recommended parcel size and the item exceed the maximum size and weight of the label, you won't be charged any additional cost. Just go ahead and use the Simple Delivery postage label- the courier will still accept the item if it is within the maximum weight and dimensions for the service." THEY MISS THE POINT, it's a postcard - I want to send as a small letter with Royal mail. Sometimes it has given me the option to change to small letter, but usually not. please help!

If the custom postage option is not showing during the listing process that means it's just not available for that item.

You can pay for different postage yourself if you want, it's not very straightforward though.
To mark dispatched and get the buyer's address you still need to generate the original prepaid label ("Get prepaid label" > " Get prepaid label and QR code").   It will remain unused.   

If the buyer paid for it it will be refunded to them automatically in 30 days.  If you paid for the original label (ie. have free postage on the listing)  you can cancel it here:

(the line about needing to be sent with a tracked service in order to receive the refund no longer applies).

You cannot add a new tracking number (if you use tracking).   All you can do is message the buyer with the new tracking details.  You would still be able to add the new number to a "Not received" case if the buyer opened one though.

The payment may be held for 14 days.

To be allowed to avoid simple postage, postcards must be within the maximum of £20 and 100 gms.

I have only looked at a few, but some are over £20. Only those  that qualify will allow you to use CUSTOM POSTAGE.

Just in case you are not aware, some of your cards are still showing postage as 85p. only 2p but worth doing some bulk editing.

Thank you! I did get a response on the chat about changing the category they said: “I have checked the item category and I am happy to share that you are getting the custom postage option however you need to change the item category as "Books, Comics & Magazines>Books".” ??

But I understand now, it’s about the price and weight 😉 thanks for the help and pointers, appreciated!
