Seller refused cancellation due to wrong reason?!

Hi everyone,

I bought a water bottle for my son and 3 days later, the seller sent me "Sorry the item is out of stock." I was a bit confused because the item could still be bought but whatever, so I asked to get a refund. He sais "cancel the order and you'll get one". I then cancelled the order but there's wasn't any "out of stock" option for the cancellation reason so I chose "item won't arrive on time" then the seller refused the cancellation and started to have a go at me by message telling me to choose the right reason! Like who cares? Also, now that he refused the cancellation I can't cancel again and the ebay automatic help chat is not helpful.

What should I do?

Thank you.

Seller refused cancellation due to wrong reason?!

Buyers can't cancel only ask seller to cancelwhich they should have accepted.

All you can do now is wait until 1 day past the delivery date quoted and open a case for item not received, escalate the case to eBay if you aren' refunded in 3 days and they will issue the refund.

Once you get the refund leave the seller the feedback they deserve but don't mention any cases or refunds or they may be able to get it removed.

It sounds as though your seller is trying to avoid being penalised by eBay for making an out of stock cancellation. If it's the buyer who asks to cancel eBay doesn't penalise the seller.

Sellers shouldn't demand this before they will agree to cancel. You could report this here if you want to: https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/buying/resolving-issues-sellers/report-issue-seller?id=4022&st=12&pos=1&...
