Seller bidding - has cancelled my bid

I have bid twice on an item; each time the seller (I believe) has bid on it - I have not increased my bid and they have won. The item has then been relisted. They have listed it a third time (low starting price) and I bid on it but they have cancelled my bid. There is also no history of this third bid! How can they do this? It's manipulation of the auction process and surely against the rules?

A seller cannot bid on their own item it's not possible.

Even using another ID another account,  what would be the point if  they win, they will not receive any money.

If they are not liking a bidder bidding for any reason,  they can just cancel that bid.

Seller bidding - has cancelled my bid

It seems they can bid on their own item, or could get a friend to do it. They seem to put items up at 99p and in this case, because the item only got one bid over that (me) they bid to £1.20. Then it sold at that price but they relisted it. They did this twice and it sold at £1.20 each time and then they relisted it a third time. So I bid again but they cancelled the whole sale. It doesn't seem to be 'chance' to me but manipulating the bidding.
