Bought an engine part. It arrived but is totally useless due to being used with no oil. Seller sent me a fake phone number then ignored any communication. Has now advertised as being sold out of all items. How do I contact ebay for help? Just keep getting run in circles by the au

You are too late to make a claim through Ebay.

Try your payment provider (bank/credit card) to see if you can start a chargeback on the grounds you have bought an item online which is not fit for purpose.

If you are within 30 days of purchase, you need to open a return stating that the item is damaged/doesn't work.

Open a return request

To request a return, select the item you want to send back from your recent purchases above, or use the button below. You can also start a return request from your Purchases in My eBay.

Start a return - opens in new window or tab

If you have bought a faulty item and it is covered by the Ebay Money Back Guarantee, then the procedure is to start a return.

I added a link for you to start the process.

Did you want further advice?

If so, ask a relevant question, thanks.

Where you replying to Papso,  as you do have to log out of this site,  and  jackyl1957,  gave you the correct information.

First though,   you need to log out of this UK site ,  and log into your homesite which is... https://comunidad.ebay.es/

Then,  if you are still within 30 days of the item's last estimated date for delivery you are guaranteed a full refund,  under eBay's 30 day MBG,  Money Back Guarantee policy.

Just proceed this way:

You have received an item not as described,  go right of the item in your Purchase History and from More Actions select... Return this item selecting the reason Item Does Not Match Description or Photos.

The seller needs to accept this case within 3 days and refund,  if they want their item back first , they need to pay for that fully tracked return postage, then on receipt of their item they have 48 hours to refund you.  If they don't ,  need to escalate the case,  ask eBay to step in, and they'll force the refund.

Never listen to any excuse or promise from the seller to close the case early,  and do not forget to escalate.

Many thanks. Unfortunately I didn't find the fault until I tried to fit the part, which was purchased 35 days before. Am I Stuffed?

Hi

I'm afraid I'm over the 30 day limit. Didn't find the fault until I tried to start the engine.
