Scam or genuine mistake

I received a returned item yesterday which I was expecting but today received another parcel with the same details on but containing a different item.  I contacted the buyer and they have asked me to send the parcel if they pay for postage.  If they printed a second label with my details on would that parcel have been sent for free or would RM pick up that the same label had been used twice?  Also how would this person send me the postage payment?

I don't think somebody accidentally sending you something that you were not expecting and have not paid for can be a scam.

I would ask for the postage cost upfront.

The easiest way for the person to pay you is via bank transfer so they would need your sort code and account number.

If you both have Paypal, you could send them a payment request,

Thanks

You have a good point there.  I just saw a parcel that the postage hadn't been paid for.

Thanks for the help.

Royal Mail's systems "should" pick up any copies of a label and reject them.  I would "guess" that the item may be delivered and a charge raised.  @delightfullittledeals
