SCAMMED ON POSTAGE

I invoiced a buyer with a Northern Ireland address which included the postage cost of £3.55 for up to 250g

After he paid he changed his delivery address to one in the Republic of Ireland. The cost to send there for the same weight is £8.65 I felt scammed. I had no way to invoice him for the £5.10 extra that I had to pay to send it. He didn't want to refund me the shortfall by bank transfer but suggested I load the amount onto a future buy.

Ebay rules are you send the parcel to the address given by ebay on the payment invoice. Sometimes buyers do ask to have it sent to a different address after payment, but any sellers that do so are not covered by the ebay MBG, and all it entails.

If your buyer wanted the item sent to a different address you should have cancelled the sale and relisted it for him to buy again using the new address.

Buyers can't change their address after they pay.

In the past I've sent things to the wrong address because buyers had changed it after payment, it does happen.

Yes, it does happen,  but if you agree you must remember here,  you would not have any seller protection if the item was lost in the post.

Of course you can agree,  but the buyer should understand to accede to a request for cancelling the order with their permission, for you to relist it and the buyer adjusting the delivery address which can be done at eBay checkout,  on the left hand side,  Before paying.

So long as you realise that proof of delivery to an address not as advised by ebay, and you have no protection against claims of not received.
