I bought two car covers of different sizes on separate listings and they were both poor quality. Torn easily at the area where the securing straps are attached.
I raised a return and the buyer offered me discounts but I insisted I wanted a refund.
Seller then advised he’d sent new items and closed the return.
I didn’t actually want replacements due to the poor quality, but needless to say, the replacements didn’t arrive either.
I can see how to contact EBay

The only way a seller can close a return for item not as described is if the case times out and you do not escalate the case in time. This can happen if you listen to a seller stalling any refund with excuses and promises.
For any future issues like this never agree to a replacement but always to a refund and remember to escalate a case if it's not resolved in 3 days, and you'll receive a full refund.
Once closed another case for the item (s) cannot be opened with eBay.
You can try your payment provider now for help with a refund.

Exactly how did the seller close your case because if you opened a not as described case they cannot close it.

Hi, I’m not sure but it says here that he declined the refund.
After 12/12/24 he carried on making offers until eventually I heard nothing more..

Hi,

You're welcome.
Annoying when you realise you have ben duped as you say, but a learning curve, and I'm sure it won't proceed to this again for you, for any future purchases.
