Return from customer

So a person has asked me to refund them and they will return the item as they’re facing an issue with the item.

However they’re doing this 10 days after purchasing the item, how can I be sure they haven’t tampered with the item and returning me something that I did not originally sell them?

Any help would be great

Be sure to get it back before you refund.   If ebay have found in their favour you will get the chance to appeal the decision if necessary but get it back first.

Even people who change or update their phones very regularly don't have over 50 pre-owned or 'opened never used' phones to sell.

It looks as if you are trading - buying phones for the express purpose of selling them on.  You should have a business account and a returns policy that allows your buyers to send their item back for any reason for a minimum of 14 days.
