Return QR code doesn't cover size of item

I bought a scooter off ebay, the thing is knackered. Requested a return but they buyer said they dont want it back and will refund me but cant work out how. After not hearing, i took it to the post office to return, but the qr code doesn't cover large parcels.  How can I proceed.
