Hi there
Not sure if anyone can help but I'm confused with ebays recent changes.
I just sold an item for £8, the buyer paid but then cancelled the order. I accepted the cancellation and sent a refund. However, ebay has taken the refund from £10 that was in my Balance for a recent sale I made!
Why has eBay not taken the payment from the payment made by the buyer and used by sale funds instead? I'd left the £10 balance for a future purchase, however there is now only £2 showing!
If, when and how do I get my money back?
Many thanks for your help.

The refund will come from your balance, and if there were no monies there, it would of been taken from your preferred payment method you have listed in your eaby account,so from your bank account.

That money was on hold so not available for the refund. Presumably it will be released after 24 business days.
The rules on how refunds will be made is in eBay's terms and conditions, to which you agree before selling on ebay.

Refunds are paid from your available funds-eBay balance first then your backup source usually your bank.
Once the buyers original payment becomes available it goes to your eBay balance restoring the refunded amount
