Refund request

Hi

I have had a request for a refund today 31st October on a Lego set sold on the 29th September.  The reason for the refund buyer stated box felt light and reported it had already been opened and parts missing.  This set was purchased not recently from Sainsbury’s and was sealed. The seal was not tape but the type you had to press in to break the card of the box, which would be impossible to re seal.  Any advise on how to proceed

 thanks Steve

Refund request

When a buyer claims item is not as described it's best to accept the return and refund or eBay may decide to refund and tell the buyer they don't have to return .

The reality for sellers is that eBay never sees the items concerned and by default accepts the buyers word for faults. If you resist, the case will almost certainly be found in the buyer's favour. You would then be penalised with an account defect as well as having to refund the buyer in full. If you didn't send the buyer a prepaid return label eBay may not even require the item to be returned.

So in short, there's not much that sellers can do except agree to the return and send the buyer a prepaid return label. You will just have to hope that what you get back is what you sent. If it isn't, ask here again for advice.
