If a buyer claims not as described then they need to open a dispute in the resolution centre
You send a pre paid label for the return and once you have the item back then you refund in full through the resolution centre.
The buyer has to return the item
If they dont then you should win the dispute
You are right when you have been told that sometimes ebay will refund without the return.
It should not happen if you sent the label for the return.
Did you send the label through ebay or your own label
If is not very safe to keep phoning ebay as they have been known to refund a buyer without the return if the seller contacts ebay.
I dont know what provision you have made to stop ebay refunding but I doubt that will work whatever you did
If the buyer does not escalate the dispute then they will not get a refund and the case times out.
It would be best to sit it out wait for the case to expire.
