Hi,
I'm not sure if this is the right place to help me with my situation, but it's worth a try I guess! It seems like eBay's not-so-intelligent "artificial intelligence" has completely screwed up by restricting my buying and selling (I haven't listed anything yet), by insisting that my account has been fraudulently accessed and used by a third party... the thing is, it most definitely HASN'T!!!
All I can think of that may have triggered this issue was me using two computers (a laptop and a desktop) at two different times to access my eBay account, but with the same internet connection and the same IP address.
I've done the phone verification thing with the PIN code like 3 times, the same with changing my password, just for the daft system to tell me the same old nonsense again! I could understand if two computers geographically separated using two different IP addresses were accessing my account simultaneously, but come on, the IP ain't even changed!!!
Is anyone on here able to press the AI stupidity reset button for me?
Thanks for your time! 🙂

If eBay has linked your account with a restricted one then you would still be able to buy, if you can't buy or sell, yet can access your account, you need to contact eBay CS to get the answer.
Hi Paul,
I can't imagine that using a desktop & laptop on the same IP caused the problem either. In fact another IP shouldn't cause it either. I've accessed ebay from different IP's over time.
Maybe somebody else as used the same IP and had a problem with their account and the two have got confused.
Nobody here, can hit the reset button for you. There's no ebay here. This is the Member to Member help board.
However, as your in your account now, maybe the problem is resolved.
Ebay as all sorts of glitches.
