Postage Labels

I sold an item, but could not see the buyer's address, so I thought I would look on the page Get a postage label (it is certain to be there). As my item was a small envelope, I was posting it with Royal Mail inside a post office (to obtain proof of posting). I found the delivery address and all was good. The post was £2 (ouch), the item I sell for £3.80 postage inc. On returning home, I went to mark the item as Posted, only to see that it was already done, and I could see that I had been charged for postage of £2.94. For a start, I posted the item on its way. I did not tick any buy box on the page, nowhere did it say the cost, so everything was a total shambles in the end, losing money (post cost me £4.94). What can I do, I did not use this eBay postage (this occasion), even if I wanted to (I had posted the item). It says non-refundable ! I have a problem with this. As I said above, I did not tick a buy postage box. I have not known this before, where one can not see the address to post an item to. Items sold after this are all OK, no problems at all, and as before this incident.

Postage Labels

You need to read up on eBay's new Simple Delivery system:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/selling/posting-items/setting-postage-options/simple-delivery?id=5575

Then if you paid for the original label you can cancel it here:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/claims/simple-delivery/refund/seller
If the buyer paid for it it will be refunded to them automatically in 30 days.

Postage Labels

Thank you peaseblossom, I have just filled out the form (I did not know this form exists. I did not look for a form as the page for the postage label said this is not refundable. The form will not go through as it says, it is more than 14 days from purchase. I think I will give up with eBay, as it has cost me just under £5 in all. I am only making £1.80 on each item if all goes well, so an extra £2.94 means I have a minus outcome. Thank you again for your help peaseblossom ! Why can we not speak to someone from eBay.
