Payment didn't go through

I had attempted to buy goods on eBay through financing. As the transaction was being sent through Paypal credit, I guess someone else had bought the item before the financing had went through. Now Idk where the money I had attempted to buy the item with went as it isn't in my paypal history and when asking my bank, they say I have to ask ebay or paypal even though there is no transaction since someone else had bought the item.
