Parcel too long

I have sold a very light item on Ebay but its 161cm long. No Royal Mail service at this size and couriors prices start at more than the item is worth what can I do here?

Hi x755, thanks for your post.

 

If the item is too big to be sent with Simple Delivery, you can pick any carrier and service of your preference, in this case you can try finding the one with the best possible price. However, if the value of the shipping service is still higher than the item itself, there is not much that could be done there, I'm afraid.

Parcel too long

You haven't got many options, as at that length all carriers will class it as oversize. If you can get it under 1.5m then Parcelforce will take it over the post office counter as a standard (they have generous size allowance). Depending on the other dimensions and weight I can see UPS will carry it if is say 3kg in weight for around £15 but you may have to go via a broker to get that rate.

 

There is another carrier/website, but their name escapes me at present if I have a lightbulb moment I will post back here.
