Over charged for purchase

I offered £50 for a sellers item last night and this morning got an email from eBay saying it was excepted Pay Now, so I did and when my PayPal confirmation came through I’d been charged £88, I have since emailed the seller and cancelled the order with eBay (have not heard back yet) but there is no way I can explain to eBay why I have done this and that it’s obviously a mistake from there end, plus I want this item at the £50.

can anyone help

Kim

Offers do not include postage and it tells you this on the offer,  but without knowing whst the item was it is not possible to guess how it totalled £88.

What was item number?

No you misunderstand, the original amount was £88 they were asking and I offered £50 and this morning I received an email from eBay saying it’s been excepted pay now, so I did, but when I’d finished paying my confirmation of payment was £88 the original price.Kim

I see, do you have a breakdown of how the £88 is made up, for example is there any postage figure, and are buyer fees added on as well?

I suggest contacting seller and asking them to cancel, before item gets posted.
