The seller did not pay enough postage. I am owed £1.50, which I had to pay to get the item

This is between you and seller.  A good seller would refund you, but no way to force this.

It is always best to refuse to pay, as that is only sure way of not being out of pocket. Item goes back to seller, up to them to post using correct postage, otherwise you open a not received case to get a full refund.

Thanks. As it is a small amount, I will keep the item. It is more the principle of the matter.
Thanks for the info.

If you retained the receipt for the item, then send the seller a picture and explain the deficit, and hopefully they refund you in part.

If they don't then not a lot you can do via ebay as they don't get involved in postal disputes
