Having checked out independently delivery charges for Evri, the new costs eBay are charging us are higher than the actual cost than if we purchased ourselves!! Example : postable parcel or LL up to 1kg tracked £2.62. Parcel 1-2kg tracked £2.62 (same price)
eBay will be charging even at the lowest cost £2.70 for LL, parcel 0-1kg £2.94, parcel 1-2kg £3.71.
How is this supposed to be a saving as eBay claims it to be?
This Simple delivery system is expensive and the service not viable to the majority of people, especially if you live in remote area where getting to drop of store impossible, or have to fit it around work/home life timescales. I see eBay losing big time when the majority of sellers leave the site to sell elsewhere.
I have used Yodel previously for my parcels as a convenience store is situated at the end of my road, also a postbox there for letters, whereby post office and Evri drop off are too far away for me to get there as I am disabled.
Other items I have posted previously come under LL 100gsm so instead of paying £1.55 RM would now be £2.70!!
This Simple Delivery service will go to putting the small post offices out of business as they rely on us to keep the service going. It’s going to take ages for post to get to buyers if RM decide their three day a week delivery comes into force.
EBAY you still need to leave the Custom postage options available for everyone to make their own choice.
